similarly to the charm necklace this piece’s mirror was found in the OADS, this one did not make it to the charm necklace as this one felt different. Why would this object for reflection be broken and almost look like a weapon. when I picked it up it felt heavier and it made me start forming stories in my head of all of the memories it carried with it, what was I really holding in my hand? In alignment with the weapon theory I decided to turn it into a three finger ring but also a weapon that could be used as what the object is intended to be. In the back it reads ‘history between your fingers’ as I wanted to remind the wearer that this is not just for beauty or for attack. This piece goes beyond the now and it looks at what has been at the border, the people it touched and what I got to experience at the border.
