STATEMENT
Treating pieces as a way to share a story she has deep care for concept, design, and the way the pieces will engage with the viewer. The work reconciles her deep appreciation for craftsmanship and the practice of creating meaning-filled objects. Growing up in Guadalajara, Mexico amidst crafty women, all instilled a deep appreciation for tradition. These traditions can be reflected in the constant references to religious symbology, women, and gender roles.
